Addison, Webster County, WV -Part 2
Whew! Half time is over and were back at it in Addison, WV
4 wheelin’- ever done it? We did in a Rhino 660. It was a tough machine because we crossed the river and got caught on a rock. Our guides Dee and Angie winched us off and away we went. Heading back across the river- wouldn’t you know- another rock reached out and got us!Yes, stuck again Dee and Angie to the rescue. The trip was an aaah ha moment and we loved it. We’re still laughing about it. Take a look at our video.
We still made it back in time for ribs ,cooked to perfection, at the Addison Cafe by a young chef, (Student of Ann’s culinary class, heading off to culinary school in Pittsburgh).

Webster Springs (AKA Addison) WV is a small (808 people) down home town where everyone knows their neighbors. The median age is 43.9 and the median salary is $19,302. There is great support of local farmers and artists. The visitors center is the mecca for local artists’ creations. The RV video crew from Best of the Road showed up at Midnight Saturday. We had a great time videoing with them in town and at the Custard Stand. Then it was on the road, heading for Rand Mc.Nally’s headquarters in Skokie, Ill.

Bye, Bye, Addison, Webster Spring, WV. What a great visit!

Small town stop in Beckley,W.Va. Chef John Anderson at Tamarack, greeted us with a wonderful 2 filet rainbow trout dinner with red potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We had a tour scheduled but were late arriving and the guide was gone for the day. It was a lovely meal and we encouraged John to enter Beckley in next year’s Best of the Road competion. We were pleased to have Newton’s mother(our friend from home and computer advisor) join us for dinner. A welcome bit of relaxation from the busy pace we’ve been doing.

Glad you two made it across the river. Do save room for some Texas style Baby Back ribs when you get to Gulfport.
Yup, Smokin’ J’s is a “real” Texas style BBQ spot in Gulfport, FL that you will love!
Web developer for GulfportFlorida.us lived in Beckley, WV. That is one pretty town! Whitewater Rafting on the New River a few miles from there is some of the best anywhere!
